To ensure a successful launch, ICC Sydney had to identify, attract, recruit, on-board and train 1,800 employees in 18 months, during a nationwide skills shortage. Determined to be an employer of choice with innovation at its core, the venue was committed to fostering an inclusive workplace from day one.

Aligning both ICC Sydney’s recruitment needs and its desire to build an inclusive culture, the venue pioneered a unique Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) strategy which reflected the recently implemented EVP, “Together we do the Extraordinary”. This included an HR policy review and creation of bespoke roles, benefits and training programs.

ICC Sydney launched on time, with 1,800 team members and 30 specific training courses, benefits and roles to cater for its five D&I streams. Its inclusive culture delivered a 69 per cent employee Net Promoter Score, and 87 per cent of employees agree or strongly agree that ICC Sydney actively promotes and encourages diversity.
