Deloitte has a strong and sustained track record with regard to gender equality and cultural diversity and work within the LGBTI arena has significantly ramped up over the last 18 months. Their challenge has been communicating why LGBTI inclusion is a workplace issue.
Deloitte has undertaken significant work to promote LGBTI role models both within the firm and externally. This includes giving LGBTI employees the opportunity to tell their stories at their largest employee gathering, and developing the Boss/AFR Outstanding 50 LGBTI Executives list.
The Executives were published in AFR Boss, read by 1.8m readers. Using AFR and Deloitte social media platforms they extended their reach to approx. 1.7m readers (averaging 69 engagements per post) and drove a 30 per cent increase in visitors to Deloitte D&I web pages. Deloitte's town hall also received fantastic feedback.
