With just over a quarter of leadership roles held by women, Deloitte recognises a need to increase the ratio of women in partnership. Through consultation with their female talent, they know that some talented women experience self-doubt and are cautious about stepping forward in their career.
To empower their female talent to lean-in to their careers and step forward as future leaders, Deloitte created a dedicated career acceleration program; Aspiring Women. Every year Aspiring Women provides 100 of Deloitte’s most talented women with an opportunity to fast-track leadership capability, grow their network and amplify their profile.
Being sponsored and given the time and tools to develop has enabled participants to find clarity and confidence in their career-direction and develop a plan of how to get there. In 2016, 34 per cent of participants were promoted whilst on the program. In 2017, nominations jumped by 42 per cent (to 450 women).
