EY understands that people are at their happiest and most productive when they feel free to bring their whole selves to work. This is something many LGBTI people find difficult to do, which is why a sustainable LGBTI network is needed to support EY’s purpose and D&I strategy.
EY understood the need to leverage out ‘top down’ D&I strategy by creating a ‘bottom up’ approach to engage their people. This approach saw the formation of a grassroots LGBTI network to help increase engagement with issues that are vital to developing and retaining their diverse workforce.
EY has found the balance of being both an internal group for LGBTI people as well as a resource for their peers to learn from, while contributing to the reputation of EY through its interaction with local communities.
