A year ago, Optus launched a three-year plan to change the face of telecommunications. To embrace new ideas and how their people connect they needed to build specific leadership competencies to excite their people about the possibilities. Key to success was building the transformational leadership capability of their high potentials.
Using DDI Development Centre data they gained insights into their strengths/ development gaps to achieve their ambition. Driving Innovation and change, risk taking and painting the vision were development call outs. Optus engaged MGSM to design and deliver two customised programs for two levels of leadership.
The program includes a 360 tool and experiential learning. 128 high potentials have attended with a 96% Level 1 evaluation achieved. Adoption and application of the tools, concepts and models have been taken up with high potentials given access to the MGSM facilitators post-program for additional advice and coaching.
