Seqwater ensures a safe, secure, reliable water supply for more than 3.6 million people in South East Queensland (SEQ), provides essential flood mitigation services and manages catchment health. We also provide rural irrigation services and community recreation facilities, attracting two million visitors each year. We are one of Australia's largest water businesses with the most geographically spread and diverse asset base of any capital city water authority, managing more than $10 billion of water supply assets and natural catchments. Our team of passionate and dedicate professionals work together to provide SEQ with the most secure water supply in Australia.
Following the merger of three water entities in January 2013, Seqwater needed to create a united organisational culture focused on meeting State Government and community expectations, particularly reducing the cost of water. Negotiating a new Certified Agreement would pose significant challenges but also presented great opportunities for Seqwater, its employees and the Unions to work together to build the foundations of a new business approach and culture. The new Agreement has already resulted in benefits for both Seqwater and its employees, and laid the foundation for a new organisational culture and approach to working.
