QANTAS INITIATIVE STATEMENT
The consolidation of Qantas' Heavy Maintenance (HM) Engineering business was the first of several transformations announced in 2012 to support the core goal of building a stronger Qantas. The HM Program impacted 367 employees and put pressure on the organisation's excellent reputation in engineering.
To ensure the success of this initiative and within an increasingly challenging climate, Qantas had to balance the competing priorities of performing competitive and sustainable maintenance work in Australia, protecting its iconic reputation and supporting employees through the change with care, dignity and respect.
